Avatar SDK Move Gets More Realistic, and API Access Comes to Pro

Two updates this month: Avatar SDK Move generates noticeably more realistic motion, and the Cloud API is now part of the Pro subscription.

Avatar SDK Move: more realistic than ever

We have upgraded Avatar SDK Move, our text-to-animation engine for human characters. Movements now look much more natural and lifelike. You describe an action in plain words, and Move generates the animation for your character. We think the results are a big step ahead of Kimodo.

The frame above comes straight from Move. The prompt was: “A woman performs a martial arts combo: a quick jab, a cross punch, a high roundhouse kick with the right leg, then lands back into a balanced fighting stance.”

Try it for your next project, from blocking out scenes to exploring new character movements. Open MetaPerson Creator, type what the character should do, and export the result as FBX or GLB. Move is text to 3D animation, not text to video: the output is a rigged clip for your character.

Working in Unity? The Move Unity plugin generates animations for characters that use Unity’s Humanoid rig, so text-to-animation lives directly in your workflow. Setup steps are in the plugin documentation.

API access is now available on Pro

Good news for smaller teams: access to the Avatar SDK Cloud API is now included in the Pro subscription. Pro is available to companies with less than $2 million in revenue over the past 12 months and less than $2 million in total funding raised. Larger companies get the API on the Enterprise plan, as before.

The API creates MetaPerson avatars from a single photo and exports them as GLB, glTF or FBX. The API documentation covers authentication, pipelines and export options, and the curl tutorial walks through the first avatar step by step.
