Avatar SDK Powers the BBC’s 3D FIFA World Cup 2026 Experience
Avatar SDK avatars are now part of a new BBC 3D experience for the FIFA World Cup 2026 — you can try it at 3d-bbc.co.uk. The experience, developed by sports-and-media XR company Immersiv, lets viewers follow matches in 3D, and Avatar SDK generated the personalized avatars that represent fans inside it.
Instead of a generic figure, each fan gets their own avatar, so supporters see a recognizable version of themselves in the scene — the same photo-to-avatar technology teams use to put real people inside games, apps and immersive experiences. It’s a great example of how personalized avatars can make live sports and immersive entertainment more engaging.
Avatar SDK Move at AWE
If you missed our presentation at AWE together with HTC, the recording is now available. We introduced Avatar SDK Move — our upcoming text-to-animation solution that generates high-quality avatar animations from a simple text prompt.
Describe a motion — from walking and running to gestures, dance or a full performance — and Move produces the animation in seconds, with no motion capture or manual keyframing. It’s built to plug into major 3D engines, including a dedicated Unity plugin, for game characters, virtual worlds, training and marketing content. Avatar SDK Move will be released later this July — sign up to be among the first to know when it goes live.
